Tips for the long weekend

If your like me and forgot that this weekend is a long weekend thanks to Labour Day, you might be looking for ways to take advantage of the extra day.

Here are some tips to help you out!

Cruise up the Pumicestone Passage aboard Ferryman Cruises to see dugongs, dolphins and turtles. Stay the night at On the Beach Resort at Woorim, on Bribie Island and spend the day on the long stretches of beautiful surf beaches before heading home

Hand feed a pod of wild bottlenose dolphins and discover a world of marine life at Tangalooma Island Resort

 

Enjoy the glorious harbour views from one of the many cafes, bars and restaurants located at Manly Harbour Village on Brisbane’s Bayside.

The Smaller Islands of Moreton Bay

Everyone knows about Moreton and North Stradbroke Island, but what about the smaller islands of Moreton Bay? There is a great blog post called Islands of Moreton Bay which is a great summary of the smaller islands of these smaller islands, like Russell, Lamb and St Helena Islands.

Nari the dolphin returns to the wild

Nari the wild dolphin from Tangalooma who was attacked by a bull shark has been returned to the wild.

After spending two months at Sea World recovering Nari was welcomed back to the resort at 7pm last night.

Looking for a way to get to Moreton Island this Easter?

With Moreton Island open to tourists this Easter we asked the guys at Micat to go out and take some photos of people enjoying Moreton Island last weekend. 

We hope that these photos encourage people to get out and "Donate a Day to the Bay" sometime soon!

Micat is a large catamaran which runs daily trips across to Moreton Island for both passengers and vehicles.  They have informed us that it is business as usual for Easter bookings.
